Process

My approach to scientific illustration and data visualization is highly collaborative and tailored to the specific needs of each project. Although the subject matter, data, and final medium may vary, the following process offers a general overview of the steps we will take together:

Initial meeting to discuss the service and general project needs of the customer (Complimentary)

Discuss the idea to be developed with the customer.

Establish clear project goals, deadline, and expectations.

I will reach out with an initial price estimate and breakdown

Based on the number of hours required to make the initial figure. Built into price:

Meetings, discussions, conceptualization, research, and minor revisions (<30 min).

Research and clarifications through video conference

The customer emails me any pertinent information for the project, and I perform additional research. Video meetings or emails with the customer for clarification.

First draft given to customer and feedback

A sketch is created and sent to the customer.

The customer provides feedback to be implemented.

Full draft sent to customer and additional revisions

Vector-based figure in color. Additional revisions are requested to be implemented for a final draft. If needed, a price estimate for major revisions (>30min) is provided.

FINAL version sent to customer & payment
(Contact me for pricing information)

I will provide figure in the desired dimensions, resolution, and format (ai, PDF, PNG, JPEG, etc.)
